For a cool escape in the summer, Sand Hollow is a sprawling reservoir 20 minutes north of St. George, Utah. With its warm blue waters and vivid red cliffs, Sand Hollow is a beautiful location to visit for your next boating, fishing, or lake day trip. Although it’s busy peak is during the summer months of June through August, the lake can be warm during the spring and fall months as well.
Plenty of inlets and a winding coastlines provides for more than enough room for park visitors, even on its busiest days. Soft red sands provide a great area for laying out beach towels and canopies for keeping the family cool on hot lake days, which are also near warm, shallow swimming waters. A boat ramp and easily accessible parking makes for a swift process of getting your boat in the water for boating, fishing, or water skiing. Small cliffs provide good areas for cliff jumping into deeper waters for thrill-seekers.
Sand Hollow also offers access to Sand Mountain, which is 15,000 acres of silky sand dunes perfect for ATV riding.
